The Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda tells the stories of the people who served. Its 17,000-square-foot galleries hold more than 20,000 artifacts, and veteran guides share the history behind them. Upstairs, visitors can fly a flight simulator, try virtual reality and take part in hands-on exhibits. The museum also runs a History Academy for 4th through 8th graders on Saturdays and in the summer.
